Steam Straightener Babyliss Review
This steam straightener from Babyliss is not a very new product, since it already exists since 2012. The technology however is pretty new because this device straightens your hair with steam and there aren’t a lot of brands that have straighteners with this technology. Straightening your hair with steam is better because it is supposed to maintain the moisture balance of your hair. Here is my first impression of this product.
This device can be used on all types of hair, even hair that is dyed or very curly. The plates are extra wide and also have a retractable comb, it was quite useful because it spreads the hair out evenly on the plates. It has two steam options so you can choose to have more or less steam and you can set the device up at different temperatures from 170ºC to 230ºC. The straightener is heavier than normal ones, I did need to get used to that but when you’re used to it you won’t feel the difference anymore. On the picture below you can see the water reservoir. At first I thought that I had to refill the water a lot because I have pretty thick hair but I was able to straighten all of my hair with one full water reservoir.
When you purchase the product you also get a heat resistent case.
It did take a while before the straightener had the right temperature, I think it took about 10-15 minutes. When I started using it I realised that it made my hair much straighter than other devices. I also didn’t need to go over a piece of hair more than two times! My hair felt very soft and not dry at all, it only took about 15-20 minutes to get all of my hair straight.
It stays nice and straight through out the day but the next day I do need to quickly go over my hair again to get the little kinks out.
Overal I’m very happy with the results and I will definitely use it more often!
