Simple Fall Makeup Look (Using The Naked 2 Palette)
Hello readers! This is going to be my very first makeup tutorial on my blog, I’m very excited for it. This is a look that I’ve been wearing a lot lately, it’s not too intense and perfect for the fall season.
So I’m creating this look with the Naked 2 palette, which I’ve reviewed in my August Favourites post. If you want to see swatches of all the shades and a little review on them you can click here.
I used the colours Bootycall, Tease, YDK and Busted. So let’s get started.
For my base I started with the Dream Pure BB Cream in Medium from Maybelline. I’ve been trying this product out for about two weeks, but I decided to wait with reviewing it because I want to see if it has improved my skin over time. Next I used the Pro Longwear concealer from Mac in the shade NC20, this is also a recent purchase of mine and I really love it! You only need a tiny bit for great coverage and it doesn’t crease. The not-creasing part is my favourite because I have experienced awkward lines of piled up concealer under my eyes when I used the Fit Me concealer from Maybelline… To blend I used my Real Techniques sponge, also a recent purchase. I haven’t tried out the Beauty Blender so I don’t really have anything to compare it to. However, so far it’s been really good to me, blending my bb cream and concealer like a dream. OH I almost forgot to mention that I also filled in my eyebrows with the Anastasia Brow Wiz, there’s a full review on it on my blog here too! Now, let’s start with the eyes.
For my base I used the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 HR cream eyeshadow in the shade On And On Bronze. This product is an old favourite of mine and many others, I like that it’s very creamy and easy to apply. It also stays on very well. I applied the product with my finger and kept it below my crease (if only I had one…).
After that I applied the shade Tease from the naked palette and used that to blend the harsh edges of the creme shadow. I used a fluffy blending brush to get a very soft effect. The key to having no harsh lines whatsoever is blending for a looong time. Just keep swirling that brush until you’re happy with the result.
I used the shade Busted in the ouder V of my eye and extended that wing a little bit to elongate my eye a bit. After that I went back to the Tease shade and put that above the line of the darker colour, to blend the darker colour a bit more. You can choose to add a little bit of black in that outer corner to make the look more intense.
This is actually 3 little steps in one. First I packed the shade YDK on the center of my lid to make it more metallic looking, after that I highlighted my inner corner with the shade Bootycall. I also lightly brushed Teased on my lower lash line (just the outer half). And I grabbed that Busted shade again to add in the outer corner of my lower lash line.
You can add a winged liner if u like, but I only added mascara. I used the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara ofcourse, I’ve done a review on it on my blog and haven’t stopped using it! I also haven’t highlighted my brow bone but you can of course do that if you like. I don’t wear a brow bone highlighter every day so I simply forgot…
I powdered my face with my Mac powder foundation and added the blush called Babydoll from Essence. The essence blushes are so underrated! The only youtuber that talks about it is Kathleenlights. I love this blush because it gives the perfect pink flush of colour and a little glow to the cheeks.
As finishing touch I used the Mac lipstick in the shade Stone, this is a lipstick from their new matte collection. Don’t you worry, it’s permanent!
And this is the finished look! I liked how it turned out, if I go for a darker lipstick I like to keep my eyeshadow lighter for a day look.
