Is the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer Really That Good?
This concealer is a cult favourite, everybody raves about it but is it really that good? Here’s my honest review about it.
When you look up the concealer on the Nars website they say this about the concealer:
Coveted by artists for its luxurious texture and luminous finish, new Radiant Creamy Concealer evens skin with lightweight medium to high buildable coverage. Enriched with hydrating, multi-action skincare benefits and light diffusing technology, it creates a softer, smoother complexion while instantly obscuring imperfections and diminishing fine lines and signs of fatigue.
- Long wearing and crease-proof
- Paraben-free, Alcohol free, Synthetic fragrance free, Non comedogenic
I didn’t know the concealer was paraben, alcohol and synthetic fragrance free! That’s a huge plus, especially because the use of alcohol under your eyes will cause more darkness.
I’ve always wanted to try this concealer, before this I used to use the Maybelline Fit Me concealer and many beauty gurus claim that’s a dupe for the Nars concealer. On first sight it looks very similar to the Maybellline one, here’s what the packaging of that concealer looks like:
There are however differences, the packaging of the Nars concealer is definitely more luxurious. The bottle is made of glass and the cap has a nice matte finish. I ordered the product from asos.com for €30,67 / $43,58 and I chose the shade Custard. It’s always a gamble when you try to find a good shade for your skintone online. I like to google swatches of the product so that I can get a better look at the color.
I’m glad that I guessed right and received a color that I can work with.
The concealer feels a lot heavier than the Maybelline one but that’s because it has very good coverage. The concealer also feels very creamy and hydrating. I’ve used this concealer for a few months now and I think it’s a good product. It covers up my dark circles like a dream and it even looks natural. The only negative thing I’m going to have to say is that it creases. Even if I set it with a setting powder, I’ll find that it has sunken into my fine lines under my eyes. It’s not that bad to where it looks like a mess but because of that I have been reaching out to my Mac Pro Longwear concealer more because that one doesn’t crease on me.
