Morphe x Kathleenlights Eyeshadow Palette First Impression
You may have heard of this beautiful eyeshadow palette that Kathleen (beautyvlogger) created with Morphe, here are my thoughts about it…
This palette is LIMITED EDITION and already sold out, Kathleen mentioned that they are going to bring it back one more time before christmas! So if you haven’t been able to purchase it, stay tuned to Kathleen her social media, she’ll tell when the palette will be back in stock (it costs $13,50).
Kathleen put together this beautiful palette in collaboration with Morphe, which is a pretty popular makeup brand that is also very affordable. Some of the shades in the palette already exist as a single eyeshadow from Morphe and other eyeshadows were designed by Kathleen. If you have been following me for a while you’ll know that I’m a big fan of Kathleen, so when I found out that she was going to come out with another collaboration, I obviously had to buy it. Ordering it from the Netherlands:
I live in the Netherlands so I already expected some shipping costs, but for it to be almost twice as much as the palette itself hurt my heart a little… I also had to choose a more expensive delivery option because the cheaper ones wouldn’t give money back if the palette arrives broken, and I didn’t want to take a chance. I ended up spending about $50,00 on this palette, which is a big difference between $13,50 but to me it was worth it.
The picture above shows the packaging, I think it’s stunning. I especially love the red chrome lettering in contrast with the black cardboard! The palette also feels sturdy and not cheap or something.
The shade range:
This palette is a mix of warm colors and a few cool toned ones. I really like the variety of this palette, you have all the essentials in here; light shades to highlight with, transition shades, pretty shimmers and a few very dark shades. The only shade that doesn’t speak to me is the bright green color, I’ll maybe wear it on top of the dark green eyeshadow but not on its own.
The shades itself:
It honestly breaks my heart to say this, but I was a little disappointed by the way that these eyeshadows feel. I have another Morphe palette and the eyeshadows of that one feel very buttery and soft. The eyeshadows of this palette actually feel a little hard and chalky in comparison to my other Morphe palette…The pigmentation of the eyeshadows is good however, I like the shimmers the most because they’re slightly more pigmented and a little bit softer.
Would I recommend this?
Yes, I think that the eyeshadows could be a little bit more buttery but for $13,50 it’s a great palette actually! Morphe also has many other palettes for about the same price, so if you don’t necessarily need this palette you can also check out the normal palettes of Morphe.
