Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate and Eyecream Review
My honest review about the Kiehl’s midnight recovery concentrate and eye cream, is it worth the price? Can you see a difference?
A lot of people have raved about these two products from Kiehl’s, especially the eye cream. I’ve wanted to try these products for a while but I never got to it because skincare wasn’t a huge priority to me.
Both of the products contain the following ingredients, here’s an explanation to some of them. (Found at Kiehl’s.com).
A signature Kiehl’s ingredient, Squalane is a botanical lipid that is similar in molecular structure to natural skin lipids. It has an exceptional affinity to skin, and because it’s easily absorbed, Squalane helps restore skin’s natural moisture balance to keep it extra soft and supple.
Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender Essential Oil helps soothe and stimulate skin’s repair process for fresher looking eyes.
Evening Primrose Oil is an effective on skin barrier repair and boosting radiance.
The Concentrate ($46,00/ €43,00):
In the picture above you can see the concentrate, it contains essential oils and distilled botanicals as mentioned on the packaging. A concentrate is basically a more intense serum, that’s why you won’t need to put a night cream on top of it. It helps to balance out the moisture balance of your skin and improve the texture of your skin overnight.
The packaging looks very good, I love the simple dark blue that the whole Midnight Recovery line has. It feels very luxurious, it’s a glass bottle with a nice dropper.
This is what Kiehl’s says about the product:
- Regenerates, repairs, and replenishes skin for smoother, healthier skin
- Works with the skin’s natural nocturnal activity – when skin is most receptive to repairing itself from daily aggressors – to dramatically restore skin
- 99.8% naturally-derived and paraben-free oil for face
- A customer favorite
The oil feels quite light and not that oily, when applied to your skin you can’t even feel it anymore. The dropper is pretty fancy, it also makes it very easy to get the right amount of drops out.
Here’s a picture of the ingrediënt list, it looks very good. There are no crazy chemicals in it as mentioned and it also smells lovely!
An employee from Kiehl’s in London gave me a sample of this oil. When I tried it the first time I noticed a huge difference. The next morning my skin had no bumps anymore and a bit of redness was gone. I was very surprised that you could see a difference so quickly. I’ve also tried to get rid of the redness and bumps before but it was never that easy! You can find the before and after pictures down below.
The eye cream ($37,00/ €35,00):
The eye cream is on the picture above. It’s a small tube which also has that dark blue color. The end of the tube (where the creme comes out) is very narrow, that’s good because you can get the tiny amount out of it that you need.
This also feels very lightweight, I use about the amount that is shown on the picture for both eyes. I pick up a little bit and dab it under my eyes.
The ingredients and what Kiehl’s says about the product is listed on the packaging in the picture above. These ingredients also look pretty good, I did hear a lot of concerns about the alcohol that’s in the product. But since it worked so well on me I don’t worry about it.
And now the end results:
The before picture was taken with my phone while I was in London, that’s why the quality is less. On both of the pictures I’m not wearing makeup, I’m only wearing mascara in the after picture. There’s a big difference in my skin, my bumps are mostly gone, my undereye circles look much better and the redness on my left cheek is almost gone. I’ve been using the products for about two weeks and my skin keeps getting better and better.
I’ve recommended these products to a lot of people, everyone needs to know how easy it can be to have better skin!
