My Favourite Products Of 2016
2016 flew by, it was a year full of wonderful beauty products. Here are the ones I loved in 2016!
Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Gel
When I started to use this as my moisturiser, I never stopped using it. Simply the best product for my skin that I’ve used so far. Since I’ve started to use this product, I don’t have dry patches on my skin anymore. It feels very fresh, as if you’re giving your skin a glass of water to drink. It also doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy or something, it feels so much smoother. You can also use this product as a facemask. I love to use it like that too, sometimes when my skin is a little too dry you can see some fine lines on my forehead.. But when I’ve used this as a facemask, they’re all gone!
Garnier Micellar Water
So many people love this product, including me. It removes my makeup very well and doesn’t leave a residue. This also doesn’t irritate my eyes when I remove mascara, that is a big plus since I’ve had that problem with many makeup removers.
RCMA No Color Powder
Since Kathleenlights mentioned this powder and said that it was way better than the Laura Mercier powder, I had to try it! And she was totally right, this powder is less drying for your skin and stays beautiful, even under the eyes. It’s also so much cheaper than the Laura Mercier powder, seriously, you should try this first.
The only thing that I don’t like is the freaking packaging, please RCMA, change it. It’s so hard to open the cap without spilling powder everywhere…
Rituals Smooth Operator Lip balm
Literally the first lip balm that I’ve finished without losing it, because I’ve guarded it with my life. It is the nicest lightweight lip balm that I have used. It also has a nice eucalyptus scent to it and sturdy packaging.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer
Before everybody spoke about the Tarte concealer, this one was very popular. Again, a nice lightweight makeup product. This concealer doesn’t crease and has a descent amount of coverage. The only thing that I wish was better is the color selection, I mean there are more than 10 shades out there Urban Decay!
The shade is also a little darker when it’s dried after you’ve applied the product. Kind of misleading if you ask me. But aside from that, it’s a great concealer!
Morphe 9C Highlight and Contour Palette
When I started to use this palette for my contour, I never looked back to my little sleek contour palette. These shades just blend so much easier and look more natural.
Here are the swatches of the palette, as I said, I’ve only used the bronze shades.
Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade
My favourite eyebrow product of this year, I’ve tried the Brow Wiz from Anastasia but the Pomade is just so much better. You can use it for a very long time, I’ve had mine for 9 months or something and it just started to dry out. At first I was kind of scared to use this product because I thought it would look too harsh. But you can also make very soft lines with this!
The picture above is an example of the soft strokes that you can make, I always use the Morphe E29 eyebrow brush for my eyebrows, It’s also what I’ve used to apply these strokes.
Loreal Brow Plumper
A miracle product that makes my eyebrows look much fuller! Any sparse area’s in my eyebrows are gone when I’ve used this browgel. It also doesn’t mess with my pomade when I apply it on top of it.
Becca x Jaclyn Hill Highlighter (Champagne Pop)
This is my most favourite product of 2016! I love Jaclyn Hill (beautyvlogger on youtube) so when she released this highlighter with Becca, I had to have it. Luckily they have made this highlighting powder a part of their permanent collection, so if you haven’t been able to buy it, you still can.
The most wonderful champagne/peach coloured highlighter, it can be a very intense IN YOUR FACE highlight, but also a very subtle one if you apply it with a light hand.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara (Intense Black)
If you’ve followed me for a while, you know. This is the mascara that I’ve used non stop in the passed year. It gives my lashes beautiful volume and doesn’t make them look clumpy. I just can’t get enough of this one and will probably be using this for a loooong time.
Mac Lipstick in Spirit (Satin Finish)
I was looking for a nice nude lipstick in a satin finish, one that I could throw in my purse and don’t worry about when it’s on my lips. That’s exactly what this lipstick is to me!
It has a nice warm undertone and nourishes my lips a little when I have it on, much better than wearing matte lipsticks all the time. It also doesn’t slip and slide when it’s applied, it also fades nicely.
L’oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Curl Conditioner
A wonderful conditioner that doesn’t just coat my hair in a layer of silicone but actually nourishes it. My curls aren’t as frizzy when I’ve used this product, and I love that it comes in a huge bottle with a pump.
It feels as a thick creme with oil in it, smells lovely and is easy to divide into my hair.
Those were all my favourite products of 2016, feel free to comment what yours were down below!!
